Member for Stuart, Dan van Holst Pellekaan MP, is encouraging sporting organisations to make the most of an opportunity to apply for funding, with four grants programs opening this week.
The Active Club Program, Community Recreation and Sports Facilities Program, Female Facilities Program and the Sporting Surfaces Program, which all come under the Office of Recreation and Sport, open for the latest round of applications on Wednesday, February 7.
“This is an incredible opportunity for sporting clubs and organisations in the electorate of Stuart to seek funding for facility upgrades, equipment and programs,” Mr van Holst Pellekaan said.
“It is important to remember with the Active Club Program, each electorate is allocated a set amount of funding each year, allocated over two funding rounds.
“This means your organisation is only competing for funding against other organisations from Stuart – and not the entire state.
“However, sporting organisations in Stuart have been successful in gaining significant funding in state-wide funding programs, so I strongly encourage organisations to submit applications to any of the programs that are relevant to your organisation’s needs.”
Applications for all programs close Wednesday, April 11.
