Stand up to poverty

06Oct

Poverty and severe hardship affects more than a million Australians and the electorate of Stuart is not immune to this serious problem and there is no better time to address this than during Anti-Poverty Week from 16-22 October 2016.

Member for Stuart, Dan van Holst Pellekaan MP, is encouraging people to use Anti-Poverty Week as an opportunity to stimulate research, discussion and action to address this important issue.

“Unfortunately poverty and severe hardship affects many people in our community,” Mr van Holst Pellekaan said.

“Anti-Poverty Week is an opportunity to take some positive steps by raising awareness and working towards solutions about the causes and consequence of poverty and hardship.

“Whether it involves a discussion on the issue, attending an Anti-Poverty Week event or undertaking research, any action towards understanding and resolving the issues surrounding poverty and hardship will go a long way to help.”
