Sports Voucher success in Stuart

More than 1,300 children in the electorate of Stuart have received a $50 voucher to participate in sport.

Member for Stuart, Dan van Holst Pellekaan MP, is pleased with the success of the Sports Vouchers program.

“In 2015 the electorate of Stuart redeemed 1,319 vouchers totalling $64,930 across 61 locations,” he said.

“I strongly encourage families to continue to access this program to help with the membership costs of playing sport.”

The vouchers have been used for a range of sports including netball, football, cricket, basketball, athletics, hockey and swimming.

Sports Vouchers are available to all South Australian primary school aged children, with each eligible child able to claim one $50 voucher per calendar year.

Parents can use the “Find a Club” online tool to find the nearest approved club. They will need to advise the club they want to use a Sports Voucher to discount $50 from the membership fee.
